Cordless Phones Deals

Cordless Phones Deals

It’s amazing when you see the variety of cordless phones out there today and that amount of competition means there are lots of cordless phones deals out there. People wanting the best deal will, in most cases, do the most research and that explains why the most popular search phrase used is ‘cordless phones deals’. Today’s models are feature rich, ergonomic and come with rechargeable lithium batteries.

There are even colors you can choose from. Black, gray and silver are pretty much the standard colors but you are not limited to those.  Looking for cordless phones deals on a pink cordless phone? They are available too.

A pretty cool feature on some models is the bluetooth cordless phone. Assuming your cellphone has bluetooth capability then a call to your cell phone will automatically be routed through your home cordless phone system. So you can answer your cell from the comfort of your easy chair. This means you don’t have to scramble to answer the cell when it’s in its charger in another room. Just pick up your cordless phone and answer your cell call. No more missed cell calls and unnecessary voice mail messages left. My wife and I both have bluetooth capable cell phones and our one cordless phone handset will work for both of them. Trust me, a bluetooth cordless phone is worth it. Once you have one, you will wonder how you got along without it.

Another feature that I really like is a 2 line cordless phone. Since I work from home and have a separate business line it’s pretty slick when I can call and answer calls on either line. And you don’t have to have a business line to use this feature. Years ago, we had a second line for our kids and our 2 line cordless phone worked great for that too.

The next feature I really like is the multiple handset cordless phone system. These have just one ‘base station’ but additional chargers for the additional cordless phone handsets. So you can have multiple (my system has 5 separate handsets). You can answer and make calls from any handset. The only small downside to this system is that if you have a power outage you have to momentarily plug each handset back into the base station in order for it to synch back up with the base station. But on the upside, until we had a multiple handset system we had to make sure the correct phone was plugged into the correct charger. Not very convenient.

Since I work from home, having an answering machine cordless phone is not really necessary for me. But, then again, we do occasionally use it. Most cordless phone systems come with an answering machine built in these days any way. If you need this feature then you should probably be sure that it has remote message checking capabilities and the ability to change the message remotely. Some have a feature that has the system call a preset number when any one leaves a message. So if you are expecting an important message, why not have the cordless phone system call you to let you know a message was left?

Another feature I will mention is the size of the display. Personally I like large displays. I don’t need to see a lot of information in the display like battery capacity or time and date. I just want the number being dialed to be in nice large numbers so I can see it without having to put my glasses on.

The same thing holds true for the display of the number calling in. A large display is a feature I really like.

And the last feature I will mention is the announcing of the incoming call. Everyone knows that I screen my calls. I simply don’t answer telemarketing calls at all. The system we have now actually has a voice announcement of the incoming number. So if it says “Unknown Number” or “Out of Area” or “Toll Free” I can ignore the call and keep working. I don’t even have to stop to look at the display, I just wait for the number to be announced. And if you have a name programmed for a specific number, it announces the name instead of the number. Pretty slick and damn convenient.

Not all manufacturers build the same features into their phones so be sure to double check to be sure the cordless phone handset you are considering has all the features you want and if you shop around you will be able to find the cordless phones deals that will save you some money.

I believe the most popular brands are:

Buying a major brand should give you a little more peace of mind. Most warranties are pretty much identical.  The price will vary depending on the frequency band the cordless phone operates on . The latest is the 5.8 GHz band and this band has less interference than the older more crowded bands.

Good luck and I hope you find the cordless phones deals you are looking for.
